Not true, as you will find. You’ll lose your health, family, and half your life by the time you learn that the system most people rely on doesn’t work.

Free Up Time To Make Money

Now that we agree that money can buy time, in order to make the money, we need to free up some time so that we can put in some very strategic work for about six months to a year, at which time we will be free.

And this isn’t some MLM scam. It took Patrick Giesbrecht 7 months and it took Dick Low five months.

Here’s How You Can Start Saving Time FAST:

1. Analyze your present time expenditure. Write down what you’re doing every fifteen minutes for one week. You will be SHOCKED, I guarantee you. Time is our most valuable, irreplaceable resource, yet we waste it like drunken sailors.
2. Remove unproductive activities from your life. Look at each expenditure, or “Time Investment”, and ask yourself:
   - “Is this activity taking me towards my goal of financial freedom, or not? Is it necessary?”
   - “Is it urgent or important?”
   - “Why am I doing this?”
   If it’s not essential, scrap it right away.

   The parasites and resentful relatives will hate you for it, but you don’t need them. Remove excessive TV, attending events with losers, telephone chats that have no purpose, surfing the Net with no goal, movies, watching sport, and anything else that doesn’t create real results.

3. Discipline yourself – cut the time you allocate to other tasks – wake up earlier, take shorter baths and showers, give yourself less time for normal activities – the activity always stretches to fill the time allocated. Ten minutes here, five minutes there, all adds up fast.
4. Close your Facebook account. Get out of those online Chatrooms and stop e-mailing and texting stupid jokes to friends – NOW.
5. Resign from organizations, clubs, and groups that are filled with wanna-be’s and losers. If there is no measurable return on investment, resign immediately. When you have time and money, you can rejoin if you really want to. You probably won’t – by that time, you will realize what losers those people are.
6. Delegate, subcontract, and go without when you can. Focus on creating time that you can allocate to the creation of Financial Freedom.
7. Stop carrying other people or doing things because you feel sorry for people or obliged. Read this book: “The Virtue of Selfishness” by Ayn Rand. Stop volunteering immediately. You can do that when you have time and money.
8. Unless you’re making serious money from it, or it takes very little time, break your ties with Network Marketing. It will eat your time and money like a hungry cannibal.
9. Stop reading newspapers – if the news is important, you will hear about it. Use Twitter instead, and don’t follow more than 30 people at any given time.
10. Don’t attend any face-to face meeting unless you absolutely have to. And systematically remove all the losers and posers from your life. They are a waste of your time. Only associate with successful winners.

You Can Retire in Less Than a Year

Do You Need More Time? Here’s How

However, when you offer an alternative to the popular status quo, suggest a substitute to mind-numbing mysticism, or present a different perspective, essentially questioning strongly held beliefs and established conditioning, you suddenly find yourself facing blank stares, passive aggression, or outright conflict.

Controversial, politically incorrect information is not usually well received. This, in spite of the fact that your information can potentially dramatically improve the quality of life of your reluctant target. There’s a reason for this, and it’s not your fault.

We all tend to seek out and select information to support our dominant beliefs and avoid pain. I thought three concepts would help illuminate what we’re up against when we follow that road less traveled and wish to share real treasure with the mediocre masses.

First, Cognitive Dissonance:

“Cognitive Dissonance normally occurs when a person perceives a logical inconsistency among his or her cognitions. This happens when one idea implies the opposite of another. For example, a belief in animal rights could be interpreted as inconsistent with eating meat or wearing fur. Noticing the contradiction would lead to dissonance, which could be experienced as anxiety, guilt, shame, anger, embarrassment, stress, and other negative emotional states.” – Wikipedia

Imagine the fellow who strongly believes, as he was taught, that he should always “Turn the other cheek”, and so he does, and as a result of his passivity, he finds himself continually bullied, so he feels anger at the obvious injustice.

Now he feels guilty because he’s angry. A double bind has resulted from his sacrificial conditioning; he’s damned if he does, and damned if he doesn’t.

Or he works hard, makes money, and then feels obliged, because of his conditioning, to submit to the extortion of his loafing relatives. Naturally, he resents this, so he feels guilty…

Final example: He believes money to be the root of all evil, so when he earns it, he feels guilty and self-sabotages to punish himself.

Second, Cognitive Distortion:

From Wikipedia:

“Cognitive distortions are exaggerated and irrational thoughts identified in cognitive therapy and its variants, which supposedly perpetuate certain psychological disorders. Eliminating these distortions and negative thought is said to improve mood and discourage maladies such as depression and chronic anxiety. The process of learning to refute these distortions is called “cognitive restructuring”.

Many cognitive distortions are also logical fallacies.

1. All-or-nothing thinking – Thinking of things in absolute terms, like “always”, “every”, “never”, and “there is no alternative”. Few aspects of human behavior are so absolute. All-or-nothing-thinking can contribute to depression.
2. Overgeneralization – Taking isolated cases and using them to make wide generalizations.
3. Mental filter – Focusing almost exclusively on certain, usually negative or upsetting, aspects of an event while ignoring other positive aspects. For example, focusing on a tiny imperfection in a piece of otherwise useful clothing.
4. Disqualifying the positive – Continually reemphasizing or “shooting down” positive experiences for arbitrary, ad hoc reasons.
5. Jumping to conclusions – Drawing conclusions (usually negative) from little (if any) evidence. Two specific subtypes are also identified:
6. * Mind reading – Assuming special knowledge of the intentions or thoughts of others.
   * Fortune telling – Exaggerating how things will turn out before they happen.
7. Magnification and minimization – Distorting aspects of a memory or situation through magnifying or minimizing them such that they no longer correspond to objective reality. In depressed clients, often the positive characteristics of other people are exaggerated and negative characteristics are understated. There is one subtype of magnification:
   * Catastrophizing – Focusing on the worst possible outcome, however unlikely, or thinking that a situation is unbearable or impossible when it is really just uncomfortable.
8. Emotional reasoning – Making decisions and arguments based on intuitions or personal feeling rather than an objective rationale and evidence.
9. Should statements – Patterns of thought which imply the way things “should” or “ought to be” rather than the actual situation the patient is faced with, or having rigid rules which the patient believes will “always apply” no matter what the circumstances are. Albert Ellis termed this “Musturbation”.
10. Labeling and mislabeling – Explaining behaviors or events, merely by naming them; related to overgeneralization. Rather than describing the specific behavior, a patient assigns a label to someone or themselves that implies absolute and unalterable terms. Mislabeling involves describing an event with language that is highly colored and emotionally loaded.
11. Personalization – Attribution of personal responsibility (or causal role) for events over which the patient has no control. This pattern is also applied to other in the attribution of blame.”

Where People Are Really Coming From

When you read the above, it makes it easier to see where people are really coming from, instead of taking their “rejection” personally. It explains why otherwise intelligent people join cults, vote for narcissistic socialists while claiming to be capitalists, and invest their money in ridiculous scams.

It reveals why most people prefer to be told what to do and what to think by those who do not have their best interests at heart, and why rational, proven solutions are rejected outright as “to good to be true”, “from the devil”, or “dishonest” – why someone would prefer to lose money in mutual funds and ripoffs instead of getting 12% per year, or buy silly franchises and lose a small fortune when they could make a lot more money with no cost or risk at all.

Cognitive Therapy

Cognitive therapy seeks to help the client overcome difficulties by identifying and changing dysfunctional thinking, behavior, and emotional responses. Depending on your situation and circumstances, unless you’re a psychologist or psychiatrist, you’re not going to make a huge change in the way the majority of people think. The rich get richer and the poor get poorer, simply because most people seldom choose to change.

But there is a way to influence and help more people positively in their own best interests: education. Not the junk spewed out by teachers, preachers, politicians, many “financial planners”, banks, and “gurus”, but real, worthwhile education.

The Creation of Wealth

Trading and Bartering

I lived and worked in Rhodesia (later Zimbabwe) during the war there for the year of 1979 on a contract as a manager for Holiday Inns.

Serious sanctions imposed by South Africa and England were crippling the economy by design. (South Africa reaped what it sowed in due time, and England is in a worse state than the US – the chickens have come home to roost.)

We traded everything from foreign exchange to

An Attack on Capitalism

In an increasingly Collectivist, Statist society, in which real, law-abiding producers are drained to feed the sick, lame and lazy, their hard-earned taxes stolen to set up needle centers for drug addicts, parks for walking dogs, housing for those who have decided to “work the system” and illegal immigrants who claim “sanctuary”, and to feed those who choose not to work, business owners start to consider their alternatives.

Anyone who has read “Atlas Shrugged” knows the route we’re going. And they know the system is designed to empower the criminals and the collective, while undermining the creators, the thinkers, and the innovators.

You Don’t Need a Job: How to Create a Lean, Mean, Money Machine

There are many organizations and groups who have a vested interest in keeping the unwashed masses dumb, hungry, short of money, unhealthy, desperate, tired, and uninformed.

Academic and financial institutions, drug companies, the media, politicians, teachers and preachers in many forms, and your own boss (if you’re unfortunate enough to have one) provide information that is carefully designed to deceive, undermine, and manipulate people in order to achieve specific goals.

Anyone who watches CNN or attends meetings by “gurus” knows this.

Education Disinformation

If I took the advice of my:

• Accountant,
• Bank,
• Local politician,
• Neighborhood preacher,
• “Financial planners,”
• “Business coaches,”
• And itinerant seminar leaders,

I would be an uninformed, poor, guilt-ridden, hopeless, desperate smoker, and probably even a follower of Obama.

Education That Sets One Free

Penn and Teller, Fox News, and the writings of the likes of Ayn Rand, John Stossel, and Robert Kiyosaki all provide education that sets one free mentally and financially.

As adults, we are free to question whether or not we are being hoodwinked by the cults we were pushed into by well-meaning but deluded parents and friends, whether the myths we accept as true are, in fact, true, and whether the information by which our choices are made is helping us or hurting us.

Are You Blissfully Unaware?

I’m not a conspiracy theorist by any stretch of the imagination, but dispelling myths about the creation of wealth is my life work, and when money is involved, one faces the strongest efforts by the powers that be regarding conditioning and coercion.

The mystics of mind and muscle put a lot of effort into blindfolding the average man so that their extortion goes unnoticed and is even welcomed, so a lot of the “education” we buy into is carefully designed to control and enslave.

The naïve, the stupid, the vulnerable and the slothful are blissfully unaware of what’s going on, and most of them can’t be saved, however those who have a decent IQ and the nerve and motivation to question and work are people whom we can help.

When is “Education” Really Disinformation?

Well, I am creating a new word: “Gimmetude”. This is an attitude of “Gimme (give to me) everything I want – I have an attitude of entitlement, I don’t want to work, I’m a lazy parasite, and I deserve what you work for.

”This pervasive attitude of entitlement comes as a severe a culture shock to anyone with a responsible work ethic, but we get used to seeing it, and we realize that it is good news for the producers and creators among us.

I have a relative who always whines about how much money her bosses and the owners of the business she works for are making, compared with her income as an employee. I respond, “Did you apply for that job and gratefully accept the salary they offered you, or were you forced to work for them? Is there anything to prevent you from starting your own business like they did? Can you quit and go get a better job? Without them, you wouldn’t have an income. They created the business, and they are entitled to any money they make – it‘s called Capitalism.”

But she doesn’t get it; she has a Gimmetude.

Winners Never Quit

We recently received an e-mail from a loser who had committed himself to achieving financial freedom in six months, using our JVWebPartners system. He didn’t manage six months, though – he quit, according to him, after a mere twelve hours of work. At the end of twelve hours, he didn’t ask for help, correction, or direction – he simply quit outright. TWELVE HOURS!

I couldn’t believe it, but those were his own words. If you look at his life, you will find he has always been a quitter, and that he always blames his tools, other people, the weather, the economy, or the mirror that shows him how pathetic he is. He has a Gimmetude.

His “commitment” and his honor and self-respect are worth nothing. Winners never quit.

Moving on to Newer And Better Things

People with a Gimmetude want everything for nothing, and they think they will prosper off the backs of the producers, but of course they don’t. Atlas always ends up shrugging them off, and they always end up blaming Atlas, who has moved on to new and better things.

We can either get upset at these slovenly slaves of state succor, socialism, and instant gratification, or we can celebrate the fact that they are here to make us rich. They want to work for minimum wage, so let them work for us.

Those with a commitment to success and production, the three percent of people, have less competition than ever before. That’s good news!

2010 is The Year of the Producers

It will be the year when people will get dramatically richer or poorer, FAST, and most people will get poorer.

Those with a Gimmetude will find themselves in deep trouble. We get paid for what we produce, not for attending seminars, playing the Cash Flow Game, or running our mouths.

The posers and parasites are going to get a serious wake-up call in 2010, while those of us who are prepared to work and commit will succeed beyond our wildest dreams.

You don’t have to join them in squalor and servitude. It’s time to get rich and have fun.

It’s Not To Late

Most people only make changes in their lives when they exceed their pain threshold – the pain of remaining where they are is exceeded by the pain of change – or when forced to do so by external circumstances.

But the frog in boiling water never looks at the temperature as it rises, and he cooks before he can escape.

He misses the train to success. You don’t have to miss the train. It’s not too late.

When Is It Too Late?

It takes guts to leave the ruts, to walk away from the comfortable, the familiar, the “safe”. It’s easier to stay aboard the Titanic than to leap into a bobbing lifeboat in freezing seas. Easier to deny reality and “hope for the best”. Problem is, when it’s too late, it’s simply too late.

25% of the white population has left South Africa since 1995. When we left, friends said,

“We’ll see how it goes – we’ll wait a bit – we’re comfortable.”

Now it’s too late for them – they’re too old, their world is crumbling around them, and they’re stuck on the sinking ship.

Others viciously attacked us for leaving; they accused us of taking “the Chicken Run”, and stopped talking to us when they heard we were immigrating (this only happens in South Africa – not in other countries).

Now they’re living in one of the most dangerous third world countries and regretting their choices.

You Need Four Things to Change Your Life:

1. You need to objectively and rationally evaluate your options and circumstances. Get advice from people who have already created what you want, not those more screwed up than you are. Fat fish in small, stagnant ponds can’t tell you what it’s like to fly freely in the mountain air – in fact, they think it’s impossible. So talk to eagles. Life is short – you deserve the best.
2. You need to do due diligence before making changes. Take time to do this, but don’t wait until it’s too late!
3. You need mentoring, guidance, support, and a clear action plan. My support system was Rika, and hers was me. YOU are your best, ultimate support system, but the more successful people you have helping you, the better. Learn from their mistakes. Find people who are richer, smarter, and more motivated than you are.
4. You need serious motivation, which means you burn your bridges, close the back door, and commit unconditionally. Create a bulletproof mindset. The only South Africans who return to South Africa after immigrating are those who couldn’t make it in their new homes, and most of the time they kept property or money in South Africa – they “kept their options open” – they never really committed. Psychological scotoma, like ophthalmological scotoma, is an inability to see or notice, or correctly interpret situations that are often obvious to objective observers.

A Look At What Determination Is

The word “Decide” has the Latin root “-cide” in it, meaning “to kill” – to kill off any recourse or modifications.

A Quitter Will Never Win

Ayn Rand  accomplished amazing triumphs in her life. Her motto was,

“The question isn’t who is going to let me; it’s who is going to stop me.”

Sounds a bit like Mohammad Ali, doesn’t it? George Allen said,

“People of mediocre ability sometimes achieve outstanding success because they don’t know when to quit. Most men succeed because they are determined to.”

In my 23 years of business, I have never seen a truly determined person fail. I have seen many highly educated people with massive support and financial backing fail, however, due to lack of determination.

Quitters NEVER win. My daughter, Sacha, is the most determined person I know.

The Personal Success Plan

How to Guarantee Your Success in Any Venture

Mysticism is the claim to some non-sensory, non-rational, non-definable, non-identifiable means of knowledge, such as ‘instinct,’ ‘intuition,’ ‘revelation,’ or any form of ‘just knowing.’ Reason is the perception of reality, and rests on a single axiom: the Law of Identity. Mysticism is the claim to the perception of some other reality—other than the one in which we live—whose definition is only that it is not natural, it is supernatural, and is to be perceived by some form of unnatural or supernatural means.”

Mysticism to Conceal Real Motives

I was recently copied on an e-mail from a woman who intended to join the DollarMakers Club, but had problems understanding how to use PayPal. When it was resolved, she jumped to the confusion that Outlook Express had somehow caused an issue with her credit card not working, and this was her response:

“I am taking the mishap as a signal that perhaps my application to Dollarmakers was not meant to be at this time.”

When we use our ineptitude and normal daily frustrations to justify a change in mind, we’re using mysticism to conceal our real motives.

Red Flags

We all seek evidence to support our dominant beliefs – that’s quite normal. Many people use their children and families as excuses to disguise their real values and motives, but that’s usually easy to determine. When it comes to mysticism, however, a huge red flag goes up. But wait! Perhaps this is what the color red might really signify!  See what I mean? Ridiculous.

Easier to Choose Blame Then Taking Responsibility

“The universe is trying to tell me something” – amazing.

Visit your local Theosophical Society or Science of Mind meeting, and see how many successful business owners you find there, (apart from the ones running the meeting – they have a special agenda.)

It’s easier to blame your Spirit Guide, karma, numerology, or astronomy than to take responsibility for your own bad choices, laziness, or lack of commitment. I know – I have been involved in and studied many kinds of mystical organizations, and philosophies – they’re all basically the same.

Here’s The Bottom Line

If you want to do business with someone, you need to establish that you’re working with an adult who is

• sane,
• responsible,
• rational,
• objective,
• and mature.

Or be prepared to have them disguising their dishonesty and slothfulness with voodoo nonsense and justifications.

Cloaking one’s real agenda is mysticism and only works for those who share the illusions and delusions.

Get Real

Instead of talking chakras and essential oils, let’s talk numbers, ratios, and profit. Let’s stop fooling ourselves and get real. Evaluate your future business associates carefully, and avoid the mystics at all costs.

The:

1. psychics and swamis,
2. fakirs and fakers,
3. gurus and grifters,
4. posers and prophets

will simply waste your time and steal your peace of mind.

Finally, many years ago, I attended a wonderful business seminar with a friend of mine. The seminar leader was a brilliant entrepreneur who has made a fortune for himself and others. He was talking about one’s context, cognizance, and perceptions in business, and my friend was angry that

“this arrogant man spends his time philosophizing.”

Well, your philosophy will ultimately determine where you end up in life, and it is the basis of all your choices and the results you create. Many years, my friend’s philosophy has brought him to where he is, and mine has brought me to where I am – a world apart.

Work With Like-Minded People

For me, Capitalism and Objectivism work well. I suggest all business owners read “Atlas Shrugged” by Ayn Rand – it’s the best book I ever read. I am responsible for the circumstances I create and for my reaction to those circumstances. I don’t make excuses, mooch off others, or blame ethereal causes or other people for my choices. And I work with like-minded people.

Carefully evaluate the people with whom you propose to do business: what do they read and believe? Alternatively, leave it to your Spirit Guide to do the work for you, while you zone out with incense and nonsense. It’s easier, until you find yourself living under a bridge with other evolved beings.

How People Use Mysticism to Conceal Their Bad Choices

Like the man who is told there is a million dollars behind a thick brick wall, and he is given a small chisel to get to it. His hands bleed and he persists day and night, breaking a way through the wall.

He seldom sleeps, never quits, works as hard as he can, denies himself rest and entertainment. He persists until finally, after months of backbreaking work, he gets through the wall, only to find that he was lied to – there is no money there.

Persistence Works When

Before you start on a mammoth task, make sure there is money behind the wall. Do your due diligence.

But when you are convinced that you’re on the right track, that your goal is legitimate, and that it’s up to you to achieve it, persistence is the way to get there.

It’s not about intelligence or who you know or some silly college degree – the hallmark of champions is persistence. The only time it doesn’t work is when the goal is wrong or you quit.

Persistence separates the men from the boys, the talkers from the champions.

Your Greatest Asset is Persistence When?

When you’re using the right information and you’re aligned with the right people, and when your goal is legitimate and real, your greatest asset is persistence.

When you persist, you will experience resistance and attacks for the losers of the world. The tall trees catch the wind. Ask Fox News. Ask Microsoft and Wal-Mart. Ask Churchill and Patton.

Losers hate winners. Envy, resentment, jealousy, and fear of being exposed will cause others to try to undermine you, but as long as you persist, you will win.

“The heights by great men reached and kept were not attained by sudden flight, but they, while their companions slept, were toiling upward in the night” – remember that.

And Then There Are Warriors

In 23 years of business, I have consistently found that the big talkers with the big egos seldom achieve anything. They substitute hot air for results, and one by one people see through their bluster and posing, until they settle for mediocrity and servitude, along with the other weak people who never amount to anything.

Warriors:

1. Don’t always talk a lot, but they take massive, persistent, audacious, fearless action.
2. Answer to themselves.
3. Take full responsibility for their commitments.
4. Never even consider the option of quitting.

When you’re on the right track, persistence and consistency will guarantee your success.

Birthdays Can Be Dangerous

One thing that stops most people from achieving their goals is the fear of failure, embarrassment, loss, or anything that they currently have and don’t want to lose.

This fear will prevent them from moving forward – the perceived threat and pain – until the pain of their present condition or their approaching condition exceeds the potential danger that they fear.

By examining the things you fear, you might get perspective and change your mind about whether or not that fear has the power you currently bestow upon it.

• What do you fear?
• How can you diminish that fear?

Fear Failure?  Try This.

For example, if you fear failure, think about this: If there was nobody else in the world but you, no other people – would you fear failure? No, you wouldn’t. Because you don’t fear failure per se – you fear the opinions and ridicule of other people.

And anybody who likes you and cares about you would not ridicule you if you failed – they would help an support you, so why worry about the opinions of people who don’t like you or care about you?

Fear Loss?  Try This.

If you fear loss:

• What do you have to lose?
• What is the risk factor?
• Specifically, what would happen if you incurred that loss?
• Could you cope with that loss?
• Is the reward of facing your fear worth the risk?

Think objectively, not emotionally. Write down the pros and cons. Be rational.

1. How can you reduce or prevent the risk?
2. How can you change the situation, protect your assets, or shift the risk?

Fear is usually illogical and based on our conditioning and self-esteem, instead of hard facts. We assume a whole lot of things that are generally not true.

How a Professional Evaluates Risk

Imagine an engineer, and architect, or a scientist evaluating a risk. Would they cry, wring their hands, get angry, shout, hide, or rant? Probably not – they would get out their calculators and have meetings with other analytical people, draw diagrams, make plans, discuss the situation, and find a solution.

The architect doesn’t start whining, “But what if the bridge falls down? What if the floor collapses? I’ll be so embarrassed!” Analyze your fear, get the input of experts, talk with people who have been that route before and succeeded, and then make a logical, adult decision.

The “What if?” Game

Play the “What if?” game. It works well if you write things down.

• What if that person dies?
• What if this project fails?
• Exactly what would I do?
• What steps would I take?
• What would happen?
• Whose advice I need?
• What would I do?
• What could I do?
• Why would I make that choice?
• What would my alternatives be?
• Exactly what would this cost?
• How do I arrive at that number?

When you view life like a monopoly game or a chess game, you can override your conditioning, bias, self-talk, beliefs, and fears.

Most Fears Never Even Happen!

The things you fear are not always all they’re cracked up to be. Several recent studies indicate that over 85% of all that we worry about never happens. Our minds tend to make mountains out of molehills.

Fear is not bad – it’s a warning light that we should consider, and when the warning light goes on in your car you don’t start crying, get paralyzed with fear, or sell your car; you take it to the shop and get an expert mechanic to check it out, or you take the time to read the manual.

• Sometimes,  an inexpensive item or a small adjustment is all that is required.
• Sometimes, it’s more expensive, but less expensive than a seized engine.

Consider the situation calmly and you will find that all you have to fear, as a smart man once said, is fear itself.

Break Free of Fear

Statistically, 85% of the things we worry about will never happen. Those things include:

• worries over our past that can never be changed,
• worries over which we have no control,
• irrational concerns or fears,
• and worries about the future.

Worrying about something never solved the problem or affects the final outcome in any way.

The Futility of Worry

Excessive worries cause negative emotions that release chemicals into our bodies which wreak physical havoc – high blood pressure, headaches, heart conditions, and more. I loved Dale Carnegie’s book, “How to Stop Worrying and Start Living”.

Worry can ruin relationships, make your face drawn and ugly, and affect every aspect of your life negatively. Leo Buscaglia said:

“Worry never robs tomorrow of its sorrow, it only saps today of its joy.”

The more attention you pay to worries, like plants, they grow bigger and stronger, until they control you. Someone once said:

“People gather bundles of sticks to build bridge they will never cross.”

Dealing with Worry Effectively

How do we deal effectively with worry? Action. Pat Schroeder said:

“You can’t wring your hands and roll up your sleeves at the same time.”

Face you fears. Shine the light of intelligent, rational, and balanced evaluation on them, and the shadows of fear and emotionalism will retreat.

My Personal Recipe

Here’s my personal recipe for handling worry. I have a very vivid imagination, so you should know that I have to carefully manage my tendency to make mountains out of molehills and elaborate expansively on the smallest concerns.

Cutting to the Core of Fear with Self- Talk

I was walking from a business meeting to my car in a parking lot when I realized that I was in a constant state of worry. I knew I had to take control of things right away, so I took advantage of the fact that there were no people anywhere close and I could have a good, long talk with myself.

I have found this to be very therapeutic, talking out loud to myself. I would literally ask myself, “OK, Robin, what is your biggest worry?” I would answer myself. Then I would ask:

• “Why do you worry about that?”
• “What’s the worst that can happen?
• “What if it does happen? What would you, or could you do?”
• “What do you fear losing?”

…and answer all these questions.

Picture This & Deal with Fears One Step at a Time

I would then mentally put each of these worries in a tin can on a big shelf. I would name my five biggest worries (or more, if necessary), put them all in cans on the shelf, then one by one, in my mind, as I walked around that parking lot, I would take the can off the shelf, open it up, examine it in detail, and create an action plan.

For example, if I needed to write a letter, make a call, set up a meeting, or whatever action was necessary, I would resolve to do that, put it on a mental “Action List”, and take the can of the shelf.

If there was absolutely nothing I could do to alleviate that worry, remove it, or prevent that which I feared, I would realize that there was nothing I could do, and I would take it off the shelf, too.

The Last Step is Taking Action

I waddle around that parking lot for about an hour, until I had mentally and emotionally dealt with all my worries in this way. I talked myself through everything. I had an action plan, I was relieved, I had perspective, I was calm, and I was ready to attack again. I thanked myself, got in my car, drove home, and diligently went to work on my Action Plan.

When you confront yur fears and take action to diminish your worries, remove them, or set up contingency plans, you take control of your mind, and therefore your emotions and your life.

You are bigger than your worries.

“Somehow our devils are never quite what we expect when we meet them face to face.”

You are bigger than your worries. You have a lot more strength that you think you have. You can choose how to deal with your worries – fight, or flight. You can let your worries dominate you, or you can decide to b the boss. Change your self talk, change your attitude, take action, and win.

In life and in business, feelings are not always the ideal indicator, especially when they involve a spot of sloth or discomfort on your part.

Dive In & You’ll Find You love It

Recently, my amazing daughter urged me to go for a ride with her on a wild-looking machine at the fairgrounds that whirled people around upside down, high above the ground. The last time I rode on one of those things, I was a teenager. Now I’m 56, but I agreed to accompany her. I didn’t feel like it, but I thoroughly enjoyed it!

My wife persuaded me to go to Disney World for the first time. I certainly didn’t feel like that, but I did it, and I loved it. After that, we visited Disneyland as well!

Yesterday, my two friends suggested we jump off the boat and swim in the cold waters of Howe Sound off Horseshoe Bay. I didn’t feel like it, but I dived in, and it was great.

Quitters Don’t Win Gold Medals

• Do you think athletes feel like training for hours every day, in all kinds of weather, enduring constant pain?
• How about that awful food they eat on their special diets?
• Don’t you thing they feel like gobbling fatty burgers or lining up at the trough for ice cream?
• How often do they feel like quitting?

Those who do quit don’t win the gold medals. The same goes for entrepreneurs. Someone once said:

“The heights by great men reached and kept were not attained by sudden flight, but they, while their companions slept, were toiling upward in the night.”

Note, in the above quote, that the author says, “Reached and KEPT” – it’s OK to win once, but to keep on winning, you have to discipline your feelings and urges.

…And Once You Get There, Keep On the Gas!

Ross Perot said:

“Something in human nature causes us to start slacking off at our moment of greatest accomplishment.

As you become successful, you will need a great deal of self-discipline not to lose your sense of balance, humility, and commitment.”

Beware – pride comes before the fall.

“I learned to keep going, even in bad times. I learned not to despair, even when my world was falling apart. I learned that there are no free lunches. And I learned the value of hard work.”

Consciously Cultivate Habits that Get GOOD Results

And Jim Rohn said:

“Discipline is the bridge between goals and accomplishments. One discipline always leads to another discipline.”

That’s good news – doing the right thing instead of the easy thing becomes a good habit.

Small habits that get good results need to be developed and maintained in order to reap long-term rewards. Those who quit easily and seek the fast buck never get anywhere, and they develop a reputation for excuses and for not being reliable. James Allen said:

“Men are anxious to improve their circumstances, but are unwilling to improve themselves; they therefore remain bound. The man who does not shrink from self-crucifixion can never fail to accomplish the object upon which his heart is set.”

That self-discipline to do the right thing in spite of what you feel, is what separates the men from the boys.

Earmarks of a Winner

Champions don’t make excuses, and they fight on, regardless of their feelings, comfort zone, or the opinions of others. When losers tell them, “Don’t work too hard, take it easy, rest more, dress down, don’t be so aggressive, don’t upset people”, winners simply go deaf. They associate with other winners and hear only their mentors and coaches.

Do the right thing, continuing in good and bad times to do the right thing, in spite of what you feel.

Conquer yourself, and you can reach any goal you wish.

Does Guilt Have It’s Hooks In You?

There are four things that make winners successful WHEN they raise their hands and take action:

#1 – Model Successful People

They model successful people – they make sure they are mentored and lead by champions, not chumps in shiny suits or pretenders that ride on the coattails of the real leaders.

• They take advice from the right people.
• They align themselves with winners and avoid losers like the plague.

#2 – Work with Successful People… Even if They’re “Competition”

They realize that they can’t do it alone – they work with other successful people.

“If you think I am your competition, I will be your competition, and you will make less money. If you realize that together, we can accomplish more, and you will get your ego in check and work with me.”

#3 – Lead Yourself

They are their own bosses, never lead, manipulated, or directed by others behind the scenes, like spouses or silent business partners. They don’t have hidden agendas.

They are their own moral compass – they don’t need gurus and witchdoctors to tell them what to think. This means that they make decisions in line with their true values and beliefs, honor their word, and never quit.

#4 – Take Consistent Action

…And they consistently take action, because it’s easy to move when your ideas, motives, and choices are aligned with your values and objectives.

#5 – Have a Winning Mindset

• They are “abundance thinkers”, which means they think big, expect a lot, and take massive action.
• They are generous and humble.
• And you won’t hear them whining about being ripped off or taken advantage of or “what’s in it for me?” all the time.
• They understand reciprocity and relationships.

A Good Example

I saw a good example of this kind of winner in the person of a young man who attended one of my Joint Venture Broker Bootcamps recently – he consistently makes good choices, takes action, steps up, and deals with the top dogs instead of their gofers and emissaries.

Tim Francis is someone who will achieve a lot, because he is smart enough and confident enough to take advice from the right people and take action until he succeeds. He raises his hand.

Raising Your Hand: 5 Things that Make Winners Successful

“You are a product of your environment. So choose the environment that will best develop you toward your objective.

Analyze your life in terms of its environment. Are the things around you helping you toward success – or are they holding you back?”

Napoleon Hill said:

“We begin to see, therefore, the importance of selecting our environment with the greatest of care, because environment is the mental feeding ground out of which the food that goes into our minds is extracted.”

The people in your life, the books you read, and the places you go are all important factors in your environment.

The Koi Principle

Remember that the Japanese carp or koi has the natural ability to grow according to the size of its environment. Thus, in a small tank, it usually grows to no more than five to seven centimeters, but if placed in a lake, it can grow to three times that size.

If you have big, important, exciting dreams, you want to be sure to put big people and big brains and big ideas into your environment, and it’s easier than you think.

Who Will You Be in 5 Years?

Charles Jones said:

“You will be the same person in five years as you are today except for the people you meet and the books you read.”

Let’s just focus on these two aspects of your environment for now. But, before we do, consider what Alvin Toffler once said:

“The illiterate of the 21st century will not be those who cannot read and write, but those who cannot learn, unlearn, and relearn.”

If you’re not ready to learn, unlearn, and relearn, no amount of good books or wise people will have any impact on you.

Meet the Right People

When people who are serious about success approach me for advice, I suggest they meet certain people whom I recommend. Those who do, benefit tremendously.

Your network certainly does determine your net worth.

Great people with great minds can excite, motivate, encourage, challenge, and assist you beyond your greatest expectations. By contributing to their lives first, great people will generously reciprocate, but don’t approach them with your hand out like a beggar.

Read the Right Books

When you have read “Atlas Shrugged” by Ayn Rand, you will want to read all of her books. “Atlas Shrugged” will change your life. Also read

• “Never Eat Alone” by Keith Ferrazzi,
• “Think and Grow Rich” by Napoleon Hill,
• “The E-Myth” by Michael Gerber.

By reading the books of great thinkers, you get to actually think their thoughts. That is a profound revelation for most people.

Engineer Your Environment

Every person, book, Joint Venture, and physical aspect of my personal environment is very carefully selected, and those that no longer work are removed and replaced – fast. I monitor my environment very carefully and consistently. My peace of mind, integrity, and goals are far too important to be compromised.

How about yours? How strict and selective are you about your input, influences, and environment?

Winners say, “Talk is cheap. Your past actions predict your future choices. Show me, don’t tell me.” I agree.

Don’t Believe Words – Believe Actions

If you feel like you’re accident prone, all alone, and your chances are blown, don’t moan and groan – I might just have the solution for you.

You might be as smart as others who get rich while you get into more debt, you might work even harder than they do, you might be more motivated, and yet your attempts seem to be doomed to perpetual failure. You feel like a loser.

Dumb people are making money and you’re floundering. It’s just not fair!

Same products and services, same market, same pricing, same opportunity, yet while they seem to attract success and wealth, you feel like you’re magnetizing perpetual flops. Why?

Well, it’s not as mysterious as it may seem.

There’s no magical, imaginary demon or devil undermining your success and jumping at every opportunity to pull the proverbial rug out from under your feet. It’s not your age, appearance, education, or parents. It is a lot more simple than that.

The good news is that when you know what has been contaminating your progress, undermining your success, causing you stress, and making this mess, you can remove and change it, and put yourself on the road to health, wealth, and happiness.

A Good, Workable “Success Recipe”

Usually, we earn money and succeed in our endeavors in direct proportion to our self worth or self esteem. Guilt, a poor self image, and mixing with the wrong people (losers) is what generally sabotages our efforts, in spite of our hard work and good intentions.

The solution, therefore, must be to improve one’s self esteem.

The way to do that is through rigorous, sustained self discipline, and a good, workable “success recipe”. This, in my opinion, will “oil the wheels” of your programs and activities, and add jet fuel to what you’re doing. Confidence, enthusiasm, and belief are signs of a strong self image, and they attract great results.

Three major areas need to be addressed:

Area #1 – Your Input

…The people you spend time with and the input you’re exposed to. Discipline yourself to cut the losers out of your life and read good books, like Atlas Shrugged. Do not wilt nor hesitate – remember, self discipline increases self worth, and that increases the old bank balance.

Area #2 – Your Appearance

Look your best at all times, buy good clothes and shoes, groom yourself well, look like a million bucks, act and walk and talk like a successful entrepreneur, “Fake it until you make it”, and don’t hang out in crummy places. Only the best for you, my friend.

Treat yourself as a successful person would treat herself. Look the part, and you’ll start to feel the part. Believe and achieve!

Consistent, persistent attention to doing your best in everything you do will make you feel great about yourself. And when you feel good about yourself, you will start attracting winners and money into your life.

Area #3 – Your Self-Talk

…What you tell yourself – your self talk, and the questions you ask yourself will determine how much success you achieve. Never put yourself down – be your own best friend and fan.

Here are some great questions and affirmations I strongly recommend you use at least ten times a day, every day, until they are a habit. Speak out load, with belief, sincerity, enthusiasm, and commitment:

• I am happy, healthy, and successful.
• I am a money magnet – I attract wealth and great people into my life every day.
• What is great about my life? What do I have to be grateful for?
• I am bulletproof, unstoppable, and strong.
• Every day, in every way, I’m getting better and better, richer and richer.
• I am a guided missile on my way to my goals.
• People are fortunate to know me and work with me.
• I am a money machine, a dollarmaker, and a wonderful, generous, happy person.

The Promising Power of WHY

Rika loves garage sales. It’s a beautiful spring day, and we go for a walk. Along the way, we see… A GARAGE SALE! Suddenly, as we meander along past the tables laden with other people’s trash, we both notice something on one of the tables that once changed our lives.

The Program that Changed Our Lives

Many years ago in South Africa, we imported the Anthony Robbins Personal Power Program from America. Because of the exchange rate and import duties, it was expensive, and it took a long time to receive it. We were very excited and listened to it over and over again. It changed our lives dramatically and resulted in personal understanding and choices and a video program that made us tens of thousands of dollars. We still live by the principles we learned from that wonderful program.

Throwing Away a Fortune

And there it was, in all its glory! The Anthony Robbins program, in pristine condition, with the little workbook and everything, at a garage sale!  That’s like putting your most precious, inherited, priceless, irreplaceable family jewels on a garage sale.

I was stunned. Rika and I both reached forward simultaneously to grab the program.

I looked at the character behind the table, early fifties, torn T-shirt, and asked him. “Why are you selling this fantastic program?”

His reply should have been expected, but I was still shocked. “I didn’t even finish listening to it – I don’t believe that stuff – that a 20-something could make all that money – it’s rubbish.”

When I recovered I asked, “So how much do you want for it?”

“I paid $139″, he scowled,”But you can have it for eight – say five dollars.”

On the way out of the garage sale, clutching my treasure, I noticed that the event was held at a Co-op housing place.

Most Never Even Cross the Finish Line

Naturally, I am re-listening to the entire program and loving every minute of it, and on the first tape Tony Robbins mentions that only 10% of the people who invest in the program will finish listening to it.

There’s a reason why that loser lives in government subsidized co-op housing. He was handed the keys to a magnificent mansion in the form of the Tony Robbins program, and he discarded it, probably in favor of a joint and a hockey game on TV. It was “too good to be true”.

Guess when he started scowling? When he saw my DollarMakers ball cap. Bitter and twisted, trapped in his cynicism, and poor.

It’s NEVER Too Late To Break Free

Although I was disgusted at this specimen that devalued something as life-changing as that Tony Robbins program, I really do pity him, and deep down inside I know that it’s not too late for him to break free of his present situation, if, indeed, he wants to break free. Many people have missed the boat, and yet they could still escape their compromised lives if they had the tools, given that they want their freedom from serfdom, mediocrity, and lives of quiet desperation.

As I type this, I have just finished writing my latest book, “Break Free!” and it will soon be available. Perhaps it should be very expensive, instead of the usual $20, since $139 didn’t get the attention of a young man who held his future in his hands all those years ago.

The truth will set you free, and the source is unimportant. When the student is ready, the teacher will appear – even in the form of an old audio tape program at a garage sale. It’s never too late to start living and to break free.

I challenge you to take some quiet, uninterrupted time to sincerely and honestly ask yourself these questions and answer them.

1. If I won five million dollars tomorrow and I had to allocate it within five days, what, specifically would I do with it, and why?
2. If I was given five million dollars and I had to distribute that between five people, not including myself or my spouse, who would those people be, and why?
3. If I had to spend three weeks on a desert island with ten people, dead or alive, who would they be, and why?
4. What would be a good reason for me to commit suicide?
5. Why would I not commit suicide?
6. Why do I hold my present religious beliefs? Do they help me or hurt me?
7. If I had to double my income in three months or be shot to death in public, what would I do differently in those three months?
8. If I had only six months to live, what would I do in those six months?
9. If I had ten million dollars in the bank, how would my life change specifically? What would I start doing, what would I stop doing, and whom would I spend time with?
10. If the world was going to be destroyed and I had to pick fifteen people to escape with me in a rocket ship, who would they be, and why?
11. Repeat the same question for FIVE people plus yourself.
12. Repeat the same question for TWO people plus yourself.
13. If I moved, alone, to a new city, far away, where nobody knew me, and I didn’t have to work (enough money to live comfortably) and I had to live there for a year, what would change in my life and my activities? What new things would I do, and what would I stop doing?
14. If there were no consequences or punishment, and nobody would find out, what would I do?
15. What two things do I fear most, and why? What can I do about it?
16. If I could change two things in my life, what would they be?
17. Which five people do I love the most, and why?
18. Which three people do I hate the most, and why? How would I benefit from forgiving and forgetting them?
19. What stops me from succeeding to a greater degree? What excuses am I making for not reaching my full potential?
20. If I could change the way I think about my life and the things I tell myself about my life and my options, I could break free and be happier. How badly do I want my dreams to come true, on a scale of one to ten?

20 Revealing Questions

The main reason is that they don’t work hard enough, and they quit too soon.

We’ve all heard the story of the billionaire who started out in a car dealership and fired his worst salesman every month. It’s interesting to see the responses of people who hear this story.

Talk is cheap – money buys the whiskey.

“Show Me the Money!”

I like to give people a chance to prove themselves, to show me that the hype actually leads to results. I have no expectations, because I am used to listening to B.S. and I am pleasantly surprised when someone actually does what he tells me he can do.

I don’t believe a word you say; I only believe results.

You can’t bank B.S. – only money.

So give people time to produce, and if they don’t, fire them. Replace them. Everyone is replaceable. Losers hate the story about firing the worst salesman every month, because they know they are just talkers.

Only Pay for Results

People who write sales copy are the worst – they will tell you how they can write copy that will make you millions – IF you first pay them their ridiculous fee. When you put them on the spot and tell them how they can make double their fee by getting paid for the results they produce for you, they tuck their tails between their legs, grab their teddy bears, and run for the hills crying for their mamas.

The same goes for web “masters” who tell me how much money they will make me through SEO. OK, so go ahead and create a site for me, do your thing, and let’s share the results.

Talk is cheap. I don’t pay for lies and promises; I pay for results. The same goes for advertisers.

While we’re all aware of the “fight or flight” response to panic, and we recognize the symptoms in others, it is not always easy to see them in yourself. We tend to suppress feelings of panic and deny them, get too busy to acknowledge and deal with them, and in the process start to slip down a slippery slope that includes sometimes irreparable damage to our relationships, health, and financial situation.

Men, especially, want to appear “Macho” and in control, so we tend to cloak panic with aggression and bravado.

A Lotto Desperation

Yesterday, Rika and I sat in a restaurant and watched a succession of men feeding a lotto machine. We were amazed at the tension and desperation we saw in these men. They were gambling precious time and money with extremely low odds of winning anything, yet they probably saw this as their only alternative. Sure, some were just having fun, and some were addicted, but my overall impression was men on the brink of panic.

Men vs. Women

This article tells us why unemployment is hitting men harder than women, and this article tells us that “Unemployment Rate Soars for Older Men with Limited Education”. Women are better equipped to handle stress, and they generally panic less than men do, but we are all vulnerable.

Manipulating the Herd

The herd instinct is much more pronounced in our highly connected society than in past years, and politicians and the media are milking it for all its worth. They know how to manipulate with fear, exaggeration, and spin, and this often leads to mass panic in different degrees. Anyone who believes what politicians, mystics, and the media tells them is living in a dangerous fantasy world.

Scam artists are also very busy tacking advantage of desperate people.

Deadly Panic

Many highly publicized cases of deadly panic occur during massive public events.

• The layout of Mecca was extensively redesigned by Saudi authorities in an attempt to eliminate frequent stampedes, which kill an average of 250 pilgrims every year.
• Football stadiums have seen deadly crowd rushes and stampedes, such as at Hillsborough stadium in Sheffield, England, in 1989. This led to controlled entry gates and stricter rules by the end of the 1980s to regulate seating arrangements.

6 Lifesaving Tips to Keep a Cool Head in Times of Panic

I know what it’s like to feel as though you’re on the verge of panic. From my personal experience, having been exposed to high levels of stress at different times in my 56 years of life, including military combat, business and finances, dangerous situations, fire, marital problems, divorce, and many other things, here are some tips on handling panic:

Tip #1 -Realize Stress Effects Your Perception

Perception is reality. Accept that our perception is never accurate, and that the more stressed we are, the less logical our assumptions, choices, and conclusions.

Realize that you don’t see the whole picture, and that you’re missing a lot of vital information as you develop tunnel vision and see everything through a lens of desperation, scarcity, and limitation.

Tip #2 – “YAHOO!”

Shout, “YAHOO!”

You Always Have Other Options.

The fact that we are not aware of our real options doesn’t mean they don’t exist. Your problem is in your mind, and you need a way to see through the eyes of a rational, intelligent, mature, relaxed, and creative person. As I always say, “You don’t have money problems; you have thinking problems.”

Tip #3 -Discriminate the Advice You Accept

Never take advice from someone who doesn’t already have what you want, or from someone who is more screwed up and stressed than you are. They will drag you further down the slippery slope to panic and loss of control. Taking financial advice from a social worker or teacher, for example, is just plain silly.

Question the motives of people giving you advice, and be especially careful of mysticism – this is a dangerous, irrational, and destructive escape route. Choose your mentors very carefully.

Tip #4 -Get Excellent, Level-Headed Support

It’s hard to cope alone, but help is always available from the right people. When you’re blindfolded, you need to be led by someone who sees the obstacles as well as the exits and solutions until your blindfold can be removed. Things are never as bad as they seem.

Finding a good support group usually means that what you currently have doesn’t work. If everyone around you is panicking, you want to remove yourself from that situation. Pessimists are no help to anyone.

Take note of the people in your life. Are they helping you or hurting you?

Tip #5 -Monitor and Improve your Self-talk

I have found the most tool to stave off panic and maintain a level-headed approach is my self-talk. I have always talked with myself, often aloud, and saying things like:

“This is a piece of cake. I can handle this. So what’s the big deal? What are my logical options? This is no problem for me – a mere hiccup to one of my talents…”

Tip #6 -Is Your Philosophy Helping or Hurting You?

Finally, check your philosophy / world view / religion – it, too, is ether helping you or hurting you, and you have many other options. If a shoe doesn’t fit and gives you blisters, replace it.

Everywhere I look, I see multiple triggers.  I surround myself with:

• Gifts from people I like, respect, and love.
• Reminders of past victories.
• Reminders of future promises.
• Symbols of success and strength.

Our entire home is like that. Rika and I are careful about our triggers, and we’re highly disciplined. Cleanliness, orderliness, and high quality are important to us.

Do Some Spring-Cleaning

Take a good look at the triggers in your life, from people to things, and do some spring-cleaning. After all, it is spring, and every day is the first day of the rest of your life. Create an environment that makes you happy, healthy, and successful.

Make Your Environment Make You Money

Now imagine that you knew, without a shadow of a doubt, that you and your entire family would be tortured to death in a horrible manner (think of the movie, “Saw”) if you didn’t achieve that specific, exciting financial goal within exactly three months.

What would you do?

Could you achieve that goal?

Imagine your beloved kids having their podgy little paws severed, and you’ll quickly start making new choices. (Did that get your attention?)

More importantly:

When you play this game, you start to see all sorts of real options you might not previously have had the guts to confront.

Is It You Can’t or You Won’t?

You see, our biggest barrier isn’t the fact that we can’t accomplish something, but rather the fact that we won’t, because of our fear of other people’s opinions. Scary, I know, but true. We don’t fear failure per se; we fear the reactions of others if we were to fail. “What would they say? I would feel so embarrassed!”

How much more embarrassed would you feel if you learned that you had six months to live (watch “Breaking Bad”), and you had been too bashful, self-absorbed, and apathetic to provide adequately for your family when you had the opportunity?

Try this one: Imagine you get hit by a heavy truck while meandering across a busy street in the rain, so you’re confined to a wheelchair and can’t speak, and your fifty-something, arthritic wife has to work as a shelf packer at Safeway in the day and a cleaner at MacDonald’s at night to support your pathetic asset? (Problem is, there are so many useless men already living off their wives…)

Consider Your Real Alternatives

Playing head games frees us up to consider our real alternatives, to weigh up our present use of time and resources, and to think outside the box. We need to mentally exceed our pain threshold in order to imagine the unimaginable.

Playing this “torturous consequences” game allows us to peek out from under our moldy old security blanket and realize that we’re using around 4% of our potential, and that the lies we’ve been telling ourselves about what we can’t do are really just self delusion.

Think of Ricky Bobby in “Talladega Nights”, when he convinced himself he was paralyzed – a hilarious hospital scene that has a serious ring of truth to it. We all suffer from self-deception. When he stuck a real knife into his thigh to prove his point to his friends, he had a painful awakening.

Make Your Excuse Irrelevant

My wife is allergic to nicotine. She sat in the front seat of a car being driven by a friend, and a smoker got onto the back seat, still stinking of smoke from her last fix. Rika’s eyes were red for two days. Even though the smoker wasn’t smoking in the car, it was enough to contaminate the other passengers.

Input Influences EVERYTHING

I am contaminated by the books I read, the movies I watch, the people I meet, and the communications I handle, whether or not I want to believe it to be so.

• Positive contamination propels me like rocket fuel towards my objectives.
• Negative contamination poisons the well, dilutes my efforts, sabotages my work, and drags me in the opposite direction.

When I spend time with winners, I leave feeling buoyed up, motivated, inspired, and enthusiastic. After spending time with losers, I feel like I need ten hot showers and a mouthwash. Purge your life of leeches.

Do These Two Things

Monitor your input / contamination for a week, then do two things: remove bad stuff and replace it with good stuff.

That simple. Not rocket science. Not hard to do.

• Resign, as I did, from organizations, clubs, and fraternities that don’t share your philosophy and aspirations.
• Break relationships off with losers, whiners, parasites, and victims.
• Seek out champions and producers, and build strong relationships with them.
• Read good books.

Before you know it, you will feel like a million bucks. You’ll have more energy, bigger goals, and less frustration. Atlas, don’t hesitate to shrug when it’s appropriate.

There are two kinds of people in the world – the prodders and the prodded.

• 1% are prodders – those who make it happen and sometimes feel like they are pulling a train when prodding others.

Winners take the initiative and strike out, whether followed or not.

• They are internally motivated.
• They will succeed regardless of the circumstances they face.
• They don’t rely on other people.

• They succeed in spite of the losers that let them down and attack them, and they never quit. They are like the little engine that could. They persist in the face of adversity.

• They don’t wait for permission, support, or the best circumstances.

Winners make the world go round.

They hate prodding the prodded, but they understand it’s a necessity of life, like cleaning the oven.

Losers…

Losers constantly look for excuses to retreat, rest, and relax.

• They quickly run out of energy, ideas, resolve, and hope.
• They love quitting and then blaming other people, their circumstances, and the weather.
• They need prodding to breathe.
• They are the parasites, the leeches, the stone in your shoe.
• They are not in charge of their emotions or thoughts, tossed this way and that by the popular fads and fixes.
• They run with the herd, and are loyal only to comfort and instant gratification, much like animals.

The Prodders versus the ProdDEAD

Winners are loyal visionaries. They remember who helps them (and who hurts them.) They attract like-minded prodders into their lives. They tolerate the prodded only to the extent that they have to in order to accomplish their goals, but they have only disdain for those who choose to be victims instead of victors.

Winners are reliable and professional. They don’t compromise or sell out, and they create wealth, health, and happiness for the world. They are the prodders – the true champions – and they shrug off the vilification of the prodded who benefit from their creations yet attack them out of jealousy. They interpret PROD as:

Produce  Results  Or  Die

They are goal-oriented, creative, and self-motivated.

Be the Prod

If you are a prodder, you will relate to this short article. My purpose is to remind you that you are not alone, and that soon, Atlas will Shrug, and you should strongly align yourself with other prodders to be well positioned for that exciting time. Tolerate the prodded for now – they are necessary for the moment. Galt’s Gulch is waiting. Be the prod – the producer.

Need Prodding?

In order to achieve a new situation in life, we have to remember that a mind once stretched will never return to its original dimensions, and that all meaningful change starts with a question.

We have to ask ourselves if the status quo in our lives is what we truly want, and if our present philosophy and world view is going to get us to where we honestly and deeply want to be.

We have to ask ourselves just:

• how free we really are,
• how free we want to be,
• and how our perceptions and beliefs will have to change in order to facilitate the new journey we wish to take.

Beware: We’re Programmed to Not Question

Because the seething herd of humanity is programmed to viciously ostracize those who question the feasibility, indeed the sanity, of blind faith and conformity, we have to summon the courage to ask these questions.

Anything that threatens the current, outdated beliefs of true believers who doggedly hold on to medieval myths, legends, and superstitions is quickly suppressed. You should be aware of this.

The outright rejection of logic and rational, independent thought is the hallmark of the established system of paid slavery, the oppression of freedom, and mass mind control by the media and the mystics, which are owned by banks and managed by their puppet politicians.

Beware:  We’re Programmed to Believe What We’re Taught

We believe what we have been taught to believe, not what we personally, independently  deducted from the facts all around us. We have been told lies to keep us bound, blind, tired, in debt, and afraid:

• “You have to risk a lot to make a lot.”
• “Money doesn’t grow on trees.”
• “The root of all evil is money.”
• “You have to work hard for many years in order to be financially free.”
• “You don’t deserve to be rich.”
• “Keep up with the Jones.”
• “Serve your country.”
• “From each according to his ability, to each according to his need.”
• “Self sacrifice is good. “
• “You need to be educated by the existing educational structure.”
• “Don’t question your leaders. We know what is best for you.”
• “Toe the line.”
• “The nail that stands up gets knocked down…”

Nonsense.

Question everything.

Krishnamurti said:

“All authority of any kind, especially in the field of thought and understanding, is the most destructive, evil thing. Leaders destroy the followers and followers destroy the leaders. You have to be your own teacher and your own disciple. You have to question everything that man has accepted as valuable, as necessary.”

Dependency, exploitation, and attachment are forms of slavery. Only parasites, sluggards, and masochists revel in slavery.

Question everything.

Don’t wait until you’re too old, too scared, and too weak to change. Question now.

Anyone who says, “Mine not to reason why; mine but to do and die” is already dead. Blind faith is not laudable – it’s stupid.

The Path to Freedom

The path to real freedom is not to be found in a cult or a college. Krishnamurti said:

“Most of us begin with certainty and as we grow older the certainty changes to uncertainty and we die with uncertainty. But if one begins with uncertainty, doubting, questioning, asking, demanding, with real doubt about man’s behavior, about all the religious rituals and their images and their symbols, then out of that doubt comes the clarity of certainty.”
